The ThraSMART project is an ambitious undertaking for designing and building the house of the future. We have approached this problem holistically, by focusing on achieving perfection in 6 areas. First, we have designed our house as a passive one, complying to all of the necessary condition a passive house should poses. Second, we have implemented all possible means of sustainable energy generation, using the cutting edge technologies in this area, making our house sustainable. Third, we have implemented a Building Management System (BMS) for a smart control of all energy functions of the house, adding further to the energy savings. Fourth, we have used modular principles of design and construction, making the construction process itself easy and inexpensive. Fifth, we designed the process to allow high degree of customization, letting us able to practically design a unique home for any customer, according to her personal requirements and the specific landscape conditions. All of the above allows our house to be affordable for the average costumer.
