Founded on April 1, 2009, Abraxas Film is the production vehicle of award-winning Bulgarian writers/directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov. The company’s goal is to develop and produce shorts, features and documentaries that delicately balance on the line between the sad and the funny, telling gripping stories and exploring vivid, often extreme characters, who hopefully stay in people's hearts for a long time. The company’s catalog includes Petar and Kristina’s acclaimed short JUMP (2012) and feature films THE LESSON (2014), GLORY (2016) and THE FATHER (2019), which proved to be some of the most successful Bulgarian films of the recent years, collecting numerous awards both at home and at international festivals.
