The society was registered in the Sofia City Court under Company File Case No.18208 of 1992 as a non-profit organization under the Persons and Family Act (PFA) and pursuant to art.40 of the Law on Copyright and Other Related Rights, and subsequently re-registered according to the requirements of the Non-Profit Legal Entities Act (NPLEA) and entered in the Register of the Ministry of Culture under No. 1 of 13 January 1994.
